Can't install Firefox plugin

I get the following error message in a popup window with "Chrome Registration Failed" in the title bar: "Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrome Registration. Please contact the author about this problem." Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 3.0.7.
