Word Count In Microsoft Word

Have you ever been in a situation where you were writing an
essay but were limited in terms of words or characters? The teacher
may ask you to write no more than how many pages or no more than
how many characters. When you do you usually don't notice this
problem. So how do you know how many characters you've used?
When editing Word documents, users often do not pay attention to
the number of words, characters, line numbers or page numbers on
their text files. However, there are many work situations and tasks
that require you to limit the number of words, and you are really
"helpless" in counting characters in the text just typed. However,
few people know that Word also is an extremely effective 2-in-1
character counting tool that you can take advantage of to check the
number of characters written on Word.
1. Using the Status Bar
This is the simplest and fastest way to do it. Look at the "Status
Bar" at the bottom of the page. On the far left, you'll see the
page number and word count listed right there.
However, in case you accidentally turn off the word count display
feature in the status bar, we will take a few more steps to turn it
back on.
Right click anywhere on "Status Bar". A gray box will open with
features; select "word
counter". Then, the word data will reappear in the status
bar.
